We bring training to your company, church, school or event anywhere in Tennessee: $450 for up to 10 participants on scheduled availability dates for NRA, Red Cross and unarmed security guard group classes – including the approved 4-hour general training for an unarmed guard card. Additional students are $40 each.

How old do you have to be to be a security guard in Tennessee?
At least 18 for an unarmed guard registration and at least 21 for an armed guard registration.
Do I need prior experience to enroll?
No. Our programs are designed for beginners as well as officers renewing or upgrading their certifications.
How long does the training take?
The Initial Unarmed Guard course is 4 hours. Armed guard training adds classroom instruction and live-fire qualification. Each program above lists its length.
Do I need Dallas Law training?
Yes, if you will work anywhere alcohol is served, sold or consumed – bars, nightclubs, restaurants, concert venues, festivals and sports arenas – armed or unarmed.
Do I need Active Shooter training?
Armed security officers working at schools, churches or childcare facilities must complete active shooter training under Tennessee law.
How do I become a security guard in Tennessee?
Complete the required training course, pass the exam, submit fingerprints for a TBI/FBI background check and apply for your registration card through the state CORE portal.
How do I renew my guard card?
Renew through the TDCI CORE system before your expiration date. Armed officers complete a 4-hour renewal with live-fire qualification; unarmed officers can take our 2-hour refresher.
What can disqualify someone from being a security guard?
Certain criminal convictions, dishonest conduct or a lack of the required training. Armed applicants must also be legally allowed to possess a firearm. Contact us if you have questions about your situation.
Is your training state-approved?
Yes. Our programs follow Tennessee requirements, and our armed security officer course is approved by Private Protective Services and meets Tenn. Code Ann. § 62-35-118.
Do you offer group or on-site training?
Yes. We offer group pricing and will travel to your site anywhere in Tennessee. See "We come to you" above or send us a message for a quote.

Do you offer CPR, First Aid and BLS?
Yes. We teach American Red Cross Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED, Basic Life Support (BLS), Control the Bleed and Bloodborne Pathogens – in person, online or blended. Cards are valid for 2 years and are emailed to you after class.
Which CPR class do I need?
Healthcare workers, nursing and EMS students need BLS. Security officers, workplaces, teachers and childcare providers usually need Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED. Ask your employer which card they accept – or send us a message.
